Maria Längfors Is Crossfit’s New Rising Star Athlete

Maria Längfors is the type of athlete that however young, makes a lasting impression on you. Fearless and always open to new challenges, she trains hard paving her way into CrossFit superstardom. Initially from a soccer background, Maria later discovered the exciting multiplicity of CrossFit, only to become CrossFit’s up-and-coming star. Let's meet her!

How did you first start your fitness journey?

My fitness journey started at a very young age with soccer. During high school, I played soccer at a high level but at the age of 18, I hurt my knee and had to stop. Then I discovered the gym and I liked it a lot. I then competed in bodybuilding for a while, did the training, and even became a personal trainer and coach. During that time a colleague of mine was very much into CrossFit so I was tempted to try it myself and I became obsessed with it. I was studying at the time but I always found the time to train hard!

CrossFit is your sport of choice. What makes it so special?

Crossfit is a challenge with many different training aspects. It tests your cardio skills, your strength, and your gymnastics, all combined in one sport. I think that's why a lot of people get stuck in CrossFit, it’s a combination of everything. And you just try to be the fittest person you can be, the best version of yourself. For example, you can’t overdo strength training to much because then you may lose part of cardio or of gymnastics. Crossfit is a combination of all in pure harmony.

You recently took part in some prestigious fitness championships. Can you tell us about your experience there?

I competed in Dubai, which were one of my first big competitions and a very important one, so naturally, I was just very happy to qualify and be there. I also competed at Wodapalooza earlier this year with a team, two other girls from Sweden and it was so cool to coexist with so many big athletes! There I had the chance to see how top CrossFit Games athletes compete and learn how I could be at their level.

You are also taking part in the Crossfit Games Open…

Actually this season I'm going team with three more Swedish athletes . This is the first year I compete in a team and it feels very different but so exciting and fun! I feel it´s a step forward for me and I am very happy to join a team this season! It’s so much fun to coexist with other CrossFitters, all aiming for the same goal.

How is diPulse part of this journey?

I use diPulse wearables every day. I am experiencing some issues with my knee because of the surgeries I had to undertake during my soccer career. diPulse is a crucial part of my routine to get better and be strong during the training and competitive season. When in a team I do a lot of training and that may have a bigger impact on the lower back so then I use the SMARTBELT KIT to recover and feel better faster. Both my training and recovery processes have become so much easier with diPulse.

Can you tell me what products you prefer or what programs from the app you use often?

My favorite is the Capillarization program. This and a good night’s sleep have been essential during my recovery process every day. The program is perfect both for all the season and for my competition weekends, where everything is more demanding. diPulse wearables are a big part of my recovery, along with a proper diet and sleep, they make my training harder and my recovery better. It's saving me both time and energy while allowing me to be the athlete I want to be.
