diPulse Unites Forces with Top Swedish Hockey Team Borås Hockey Club
At diPulse we believe great things come to those who unite forces for a shared vision. We are always ready to innovate our cutting-edge technology to help athletes apply it better within their field. Therefore, we are delighted to announce our latest partnership with Borås Hockey Club, one of the top Swedish hockey teams. Joining forces as a recovery partner, our diPulse experts will tackle the players’ recovery routines through our wearable technology while promoting injury prevention and maximizing performance on the field.
“The hardest part when you do physical training for hockey is to mimic the skating movement off ice”, notes diPulse expert Tor Ahman. “We try to mimic the muscles’ movement to build muscle awareness, power, and endurance. We have been on the ice, and we've skated with the players while combining this with diPulse NMES stimulation to achieve specific muscle movement and tap into the feeling behind it to assist in their accessory training and recovery”
Supporting the team’s top athletes Fredrik Ericsson, Anders Eriksson, Joni Nikko, and Henrik Eriksson while in a playoff season is only part of the challenge. Our team of experts aims to address hockey’s specific influence on the muscles of players of a variable age range. The older we get, the more time our muscles take to recover from training” notes Ahman. “We are here to make sure the hockey players are in the best possible condition, regardless of their age group. We aim to make their legs and knees recover while at the same time, helping others during their rehabilitation process. Assisting them in their prehab journey is also a big part of the collaboration. We can’t wait to focus on building up strength and stability again.”
As part of this extended collaboration with Borås Hockey Club, diPulse experts are working side to side-with Finnish athlete Joni Nikko as part of his post-surgery routine. The routine involves active recovery sessions using diPulse’s SMARTKNEE KIT; by using NMES muscle stimulation instead of using potentially damaging external forces through weights. This way we can ensure we are activating the relevant muscles which would otherwise be dormant.
At the same time, the diPulse team has embarked on a fresh challenge; using diPulse devices to mimic the physicality of skating and then applying this knowledge to a recovery program specially designed for Joni Nikko. Using diPulse wearables, the top athlete will be undertaking post-performance recovery of his muscles by incorporating the actual movements of the game outside of the ring through NMES technology. This is an innovative approach and a unique experiment that diPulse has made possible through remote application and high-quality muscle stimulation technology. Watch this space for more!
