The New DiPulse X Norrby If Collaboration is Revolutionizing Soccer

Soccer is one of the most physically demanding sports, and one with the most risk for injuries during field days. This is why diPulse, the leading technology in NMES-fueled smart wear has teamed with Victor Asto and the Swedish semi-pro soccer team Norrby If to help them both on the field in the locker, with a focus on recovery and prehab. Semipro soccer players play an extreme lot of games combined with every single day of training. This is where diPulse comes in; we were asked to help them out with the main focus being rehab and post-injury recovery.

diPulse will be collaborating with at least two players that have torn their ACL and meniscus with an additional full season rehab work on at least three players. Along with this personalized treatment, diPulse is already present in the locker rooms with units available to all players on a daily basis for recovering their tired bodies.

Soccer requires a lot of running short distances at high speed. So the workload and stress the muscles are put under during a game is extreme. “Soccer is not a physical game like hockey or rugby or American football where physical violence against the body is involved, says diPulse’s Tor Åhman. The physical performance though is demanding due to their repeated sprints in an actual 90 minutes of playtime. The strain and the stress the muscles go through during the game are high. Soccer requires jumping and running at full speed. Therefore recovery in between intermissions is very important for players. Our devices are portable, so, we can go in, and take specific muscles and hamstrings that we've been working with. We mainly focus on the hamstrings to work and recover during intermissions and right off the practices” Tor Åhman notes.

At the same time, the diPulse tights, shirts, and ancillaries are perfect for the long travels that games often require. This allows our experts to work on the players’ recovery and even with their prehab on the road. “We do a lot of testing right now on how we can work with the players on how to improve their performance apart from doing recovery. We are working with players that need better conditioning and see how we can help there. Everyone needs to be faster. So how can we stimulate the players’ muscles on the field while practicing? This way we can guarantee a great improvement in their actual performance during the game” concludes Åhman.
